Since 1998 Midwest City and Putnam City have a combined 8 State Championships with each claiming the Gold Ball four different times, on a possible collision course for this weekend’s Putnam City Invitational.

Seven of the top 20  teams in 6A including #1 Midwest City & #3 Putnam City will be among the field of this year’s PCI.

Thursday’s session tipoffs at 230 when the defending champion Union Redskins take on #13 Lawton Eisenhower.

Midwest City will put their unbeaten 7-0 record on the floor for the 4pm game when they take on #19 Lawton High. The Bombers average margin of victory is 29pts and are led by guards Cornell Neal, Daryck Jones and Torey Noel.

The 530 contest will have #3 PCO with David Bush and Ronnie Boyce running the show for the Pirates who are off to an 11-0 start and gave A.D. Burtschi his 700^th career win earlier in the year.

The nightcap will feature Putnam City West taking on the host PC North to wrap up the first day of action.
